Vancouver Happy Hour Rankings 6-10

Since my first co-op two years ago, I’ve been addicted to happy hours. To me, it really is a time of happiness when work is done and I get to see my friends.

To make it onto my top 10 list, the happy hour menu must include food/appetizers. I find it more important than the drinks (just give me a beer and I’m happy). Here are rankings 10 to 6:

10. Italian Kitchen

2:30 – 5:30 pm: $5 beer/wine/cocktails and 50% off the cocktail food menu

I haven’t really gone back to Italian Kitchen that often because it is quite loud inside, but the bruschetta sampler is pretty cool. It still makes the list because it’s part of Glowbal group.

9. Rogue

(Left) Mini corn dogs, dry ribs, chicken tenders, Margherita pizza // (Right) Bellinni and Beerlinis

3:00 – 6:00 pm: Happy Hour Menu

For me, Rogue’s biggest plus point is how it is connected to Waterfront station. This makes it one of the most convenient places to meet up and there’s never been too long of a wait for a table.

8. Ebisu/Kamei Baru

(Left) Oysters, chicken karaage, spicy salmon roll, dynamite roll // (Right) Oysters, spicy tuna and salmon rolls, calamari
(Left) Oysters, chicken karaage, spicy salmon roll, dynamite roll // (Right) Oysters, spicy tuna and salmon rolls, calamari, chicken karaage

3:00 – 6:00 pm: Ebisu Menu

2:30 – 5:30 pm: Kamei Baru Menu

Both of them have similar menus and are under the Kamei group. I’m a fan of the chicken karaage and volcano roll. The cajun tuna taco is not bad either but it comes in 3 so it may be awkward to share unless you have 3 people.

7. Black+Blue

2:30 – 5:30 pm: $5 beer/wine/cocktails and 50% off the cocktail food menu

The calamari was great (better than IK) and the lobster flatbread and duck tacos are worth a try. Really cool atmosphere on The Roof, especially in the summertime.

6. Boathouse

happyhourboathouse
(Left) Calamari, coconut shrimp, yam fries // (Right) Oysters, popcorn shrimp, crab dip, yam fries, tuna tacos

3:00 – 6:00 pm: Happy Hour Menu

Boathouse is a common favourite because there’s a location close to where my friends live. Their happy hour menu has a larger selection of food choices: coconut shrimp, crab dip, beef sliders, oysters, and yam fries are common picks. If you’re really hungry, throw in the popcorn shrimp.

Next Tuesday will be rankings 5-1!
