Vancouver Happy Hour Rankings 1-5

A continuation of rankings 6-10.

5. Glowbal

Calamari, duck confit poutine, queso fundidom caesar salad

2:30 – 5:30 pm: $5 beer/cocktail/wine and 50% off cocktail hour menu

Newly opened this year – great atmosphere, service, and food. Also a very good deal if you go with a lot of people.

4. Hapa Izakaya

(Left) Robson – negitoro, beef tataki, oysters, ebi mayo, hanabi roll, spicy dynamite roll // (Right) Coal Harbour – beef tataki, sausage trio, ebi mayo, spicy tuna roll

3:30 – 5:30 pm (Coal Harbour)
5:00 – 6:00 pm (Yaletown)
5:30 – 6:30 pm (Robson)

Hapa Hour menu

I usually prefer the Robson location (they seem to have the best menu). The Robson happy hour time is also later than some of the other ones so you can go happy hour hopping. Ebi mayo is also one of my favourites. The negitoro is the one that comes with little pieces of toast. They scorch the hanabi roll so that is cool too.

3. Gyu-kaku

(Left) takoyaki, gyoza, calamar, meat meat meat // (Right) meat meat meat meat meat

Monday All Day (!)
Lunch: Everyday 11:30 am – 6:00 pm
Dinner: Sun–Thu 9:00–10:30 pm / Fri & Sat: 9:30 –11:30 pm

Happy Hour menu / Super Happy Hour Menu

All day happy hour on Mondays AND super happy hour from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, need I say more? Only downside is that your clothes will smell from the bbq and the self-grilling. Every time I go it is a festival of meat and beer.

2. Joe Fortes

Truffle parmesan fries, oyster rockefellers, prawn tacos, calamari

4:00 – 6:00 pm: Happy Hour menu

Great seafood and oysters, and the truffle fries were a pleasant surprise (they don’t taste like normal french fries). Only downside is that you have to be seated at a bar so it might be cramped depending on which table you get, other than that the happy hour is great!

1. Coast

(Left) calamari, spicy ahi tuna roll, lobster poutine, smoked salmon flatbread // (Right) oysters, sea ell & bbq salmon roll, fish & chip cones

2:30 – 5:30 pm: $5 beer/cocktail/wine and 50% off cocktail hour menu

Also a part of the Glowbal group and one of the first places I ever went to for happy hour so it gives me warm memories. If I go with someone who hasn’t gone to a happy hour before, I always suggest Coast. I go to Coast quite frequently with my favourites being the calamari, oysters, and the lobster poutine (no longer on the menu!). If you’re feeling hungry they also have specials on certain entrees! Great deal, nice atmosphere and interior, and friendly service.
