I first met Jackie when we were in the 6th grade. He confessed he liked me with a big bag of candy made up of 25 cent candy pieces from our middle school cafeteria. He belonged in the class across the hall from mine, but I had never really spoken to him.

Thank You Childhood Friends

Digimon characters all grown up!

Since our skydiving endeavour earlier this summer, I have been spending more time with my childhood friends. Our discussions range from past memories like the horrors of 90’s fashion to future plans like engagements and weddings.

There is something very special about being with my childhood friends and I think a large part of that has to do with how we are able to see each other grow up to be different people, and how that can act as a mirror for individual self reflection.

Today’s prompt: Oil, Meet Water

Of the people who are close to you, who is the person most unlike you? What makes it possible for you to get along?

One of my closest friends gets called a unicorn. She doesn’t like taking photos, going on social media, and she is very hard to get in touch with because she is the type of person to actually leave home without taking her phone with her. I, on the other hand, take many photos and use many social media platforms. As for my phone, it is almost an extension of my body.

She has been my oldest friend and our friendship has surpassed eleven years so far. There are a lot of reasons why we get along, but if I were to pinpoint 3 reasons I would say this:
